We all really enjoyed our meeting this month, which was jam packed with features and fun.
We were delighted to welcome two special guests to the meeting – Ruth Bond, former NFWI Chair and Jenny Shelton, Features Editor of Cambridge Edition magazine, who is writing an article on us for the July edition. Ruth warmly welcomed us to the NFWI and we were lucky enough to hear about her experiences of setting up a WI in women’s prison, Bronzefield, in Surrey. It was heart-warming to hear stories of how joining the WI changed so many lives.
Ruth also got stuck in with our crochet session, which provided new and experienced crocheters alike the chance to learn new skills over a cup of tea and a gossip. Thank you so much to the fantastic members who generously shared their crochet skills to teach others on the night!
Looking forward to getting together again soon!
