I was so looking forward to Denman and it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome ( and fed- continuously!). The main building was steeped in history, the grounds were beautiful and the rooms were comfortable and individually decorated although I was very jealous of Alex’s teapot!
Friday night gave us an opportunity to witness the head chef (Peter Lien) at work and although many of us were more interested in him than his cooking skills, his finished samples were delicious and definitely worth trying to make at home.
Classes started Saturday morning and, like others, I decorated cakes and made a fascinator – all good fun and run by friendly helpful instructors. On Sunday I attempted to make a table runner (picture below) and although it’s not perfect, I’m proud of it! Again, a very helpful instructor, June Allnutt from Recycle and Sew.
Overall, an amazing experience – a great opportunity to get to know our group more, eat excessively and witness a once in a lifetime entertainment experience.
Thank you so much Joanne for arranging the weekend- I will be back!
